My blueberry of a suitcase's magical quality is its expansive interior. It could be compared to the TARDIS or Hermione Granger's handbag, where the inside is never-ending. Quick note: I will now refer to my suitcase as The Blueberry because it is blue and sweet in an old and timeless way.
Today, I set on the adventure of a lifetime: packing The Blueberry. For the past week, I have been dreaming about how I will fit all I need into the suitcase. There's so much to take: clothing, footwear, hair stuff, face stuff, body stuff, electronics, and much, much more (as you well know). I shouldn't have stressed as much as I did, but I'm glad I developed a plan worthy of The Blueberry's interior. I was more than prepared when today rolled around and I began packing.
First, I laid out all of the clothing that refused to conform to the cardboard box's walls that I shipped to camp yesterday. Then, I proceeded to make each individual clothing item into a rolly-polly. For those of you who have no idea what a "rolly-polly" is, I shall be more than happy to enlighten you: it is a very small and very black insect that looks something like a centipede - but a lot shorter in length - that rolls into a neat little ball whenever it senses an enemy closing in. And no, it's not that cartoon family's species. Well, back to the matter at hand, I rolled each article of clothing - mostly shirts and pants - into neat rolls that could be chicken wraps if they were food. I then layered them on the bottom of my suitcase, which required my skills acquired from playing Tetris for hours as a young child. #Itoldyoutetriswasworthitmom I only recently noticed that the color scheme of this first layer is matchy-matchy which I likey-likey.
Next, I moved onto the next layer of unplanned color-coordination. Sorry folks, there's more than one layer for this suitcase. I made sure to include a gigantic backpack and a water boiler. Yes, you read that correctly. A water boiler. Now why would this young'n bring a water boiler? you may ask. Well, let me first commend you for your fantastic question then proceed to answer it with the following: I enjoy Ramen. Who doesn't? You know what, don't answer that. Anyways, I really enjoy Ramen and summer camp is the perfect place to enjoy it. However, the cafeteria isn't always open, which means that access to hot water is not consistent. I thought it would just be best to bring a water boiler and not have to rely on the inconsistent cafeteria hours.
These three fantastic pouches come in handy for trips. I bought these as a set of 3 from Target last year before I left for camp (And no, before you ask, this is not a sponsored post for Target. I have not yet reached the level of awesomeness that is needed in order to receive sponsorship for my posts. Maybe one day I will, but today is not that day. And tomorrow probably isn't either). The pouches have survived one full year and I couldn't be happier! Quality items always make me smile and metaphorically pat myself on the back. The bag the furthest to the left contains all my makeup. All of it. The middle bag contains my toothbrush and toothpaste. The furthest right holds my hair stuff (i.e. combs, hair ties, clips, other necessary hair items).
The third, and final, semi-layer consists mostly of all the stuff I forgot to pack in the earlier layers: shower shoes (more commonly known as flip-flops), pajamas, first aid, shower cap, and my epic Marvel wallet that I love dearly. I can't believe there is a color theme to this third layer too. I'm 3 for 3! *cue For the First time in Forever*
Well, as Looney Tunes commonly ends with: "That's All Folks". I hope you enjoyed this word-layden blog post as much as I enjoyed writing (i.e. typing) it! Check back tomorrow for another fantabulous post that may or may not be about the outfit I will wear on the plane Thursday. Have a fantastic morning/afternoon/evening!
Best Wishes,
Anna
(P.S. I have no idea what the weird spacing at the top of this post is about. I think it just wanted to experience a forehead - more like five-head - before its days came to an end. #fixedit)
